Helen smiled at Will, rather amazed that this might actually be happening. She knew that things had been changing between them for quite a while now, that he had become far more than the "protegee" that everyone believed him to be. But she had never really considered this might happen, for so many reasons.

She was quite glad it was, though.

"So..." she asked, sliding her hand down to take his. "Where should we go for dinner? Any place in particular you'd like?"

Will couldn't help the smile that spread over his lips when she took his hand in hers. He gave it a gentle squeeze thinking over her question, where could he take her. He thought of a place, it was fairly nice, and it wasn't like he had to impress her. "I have a place I could take you."

Helen smiled, sure that any place that Will picked would be just fine. It wasn't as though she went out to fancy places. In fact, it had been quite a while since she had been out to eat.

"Then I think you should take me there," she told him.

He smiled and walked with her, glancing over at her keeping her hand as long as she wanted to hold his. "We can walk, not far. Or drive."

Glancing up at the sky, she took a deep breath before turning her head to look at him. "I think we should walk. It's a beautiful night and it's not something we get to do very often."

"It is a nice night." He smiled gently, he thought a nice walk with her would be great. "We should enjoy everything we can tonight."

Helen nodded as they walked down toward the street together, a breeze picking up a bit and then dying down.

"You're right, we really should. It's not often we get to have a night like this." Glancing over at him, she laughed softly. "It seems as though most nights, we're researching, diagnosing or hunting."

"True we are, we should really find other things to do sometimes." He laughed gently, relaxed with her.

"Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea," she said thoughtfully. "Maybe we should go out to dinner more often. And take walks."

After crossing the street, she chuckled as a thought hit her.

"I could play the piano for you sometime."

"I'd like that, any of it." He leaned over kissing her gently.

Reaching up, she ran her fingers along his jawline as she smiled against his lips. She truly did like kissing him.

When they parted, she raised her eyebrows at him. "Are you going to show me this place you're taking me to for dinner?" she asked with a laugh. "Or shall we stand here and kiss some more?"

"Choices, choices." He winked playfully, smiling. "Just a few doors down."

Laughing, Helen pulled back and squeezed his hand before looking down toward the restaurant they were heading to.

"Looks quite cozy," she said as they walked over to the door and stepped inside. "I didn't even know this was here. Suppose I just never really paid attention to the eating establishments nearby."

"I've come here a few times. Food is good." He smiled, and winked. "Safer then us standing there and kissing, who knows if we'd try and start undressing each other." He smiled playfully, letting her walk in as he held the door.

Helen raised her eyebrow at him in amusement. "I do believe you're right. Best we maintain a bit of decorum."

Giving him a smile, she then looked over at the hostess who approached them and asked if they wanted a table for two. Soon, they were led to one by the window.

"Anything you suggest?" she asked as they sat down.

"The chicken is really good." He smiled holding her chair out for her, before he sat down. "The garlic herb is the best."

"That sounds wonderful then. And thank you, Will."

She gave him a smile for being such a gentleman before picking up her menu.

"I can't remember the last time I didn't work through dinner. At least...not recently."

"I'll just have to drag you off to eat more often." He winked over at her.

"I think you might have to," she told him with a laugh. Looks up at the waitress. "You said the garlic herb chicken?"

She smiled at him before ordering the chicken and a glass of wine.

"Yes I did." He ordered the same, handing the menu over. He looked over at Helen. "I'll try to get your attention long enough to drag you off."

"That shouldn't be a problem. You always were good at getting my attention." Reaching over, she rested her hand on his. "Like running out in front of my car."

"Well I hope to do it less, painfully." He took her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"So do I. I would prefer not to run you down again. Ever," she told him with a laugh. "I want you in my life as long as I can keep you, and I want that to be a very long time."

"It will be, you know until I'm old and gray. Walking around with a cane." He chuckled softly.

She looked at him for a few moments, wanting to lean over the table and kiss him - not exactly something she did in public.

"Would it be incredibly cheeky of me to ask if this restaurant does take away?"

"No it wouldn't, and yes they do." He smiled gently, watching her.
